It was a 1st place presentation at the Circolo del Golf di Roma 1972 tournament. The side of the cup is engraved IV-Trofeo Flotta dei Canguri. There is also a kangaroo-like looking animal in a circle. The marble base has a plate attached to it that is engraved as follows 'Costa Smerelda 13/14-5-1972. Circolo del Golf di Roma 8/9 12-1972. 1 Premio Lordo'. The trophy measures 12"H x 8"W. The marble base is 43/4" diameter x 2" height. The lid is nicely decorated with beaded edges and an Acorn style finial. Nicely carved handles are accented by a raised border just below the rim on the lower half. The interiors of the lid and lower section are gold washed. The silver is stamped 800 for continental sterling and signed R. Miracoli for the maker. There is also a Milano town mark. The trophy is in very nice condition with absolutely no dings or dents. The marble is in perfect shape with no chips or cracks. The lid fits snugly with no looseness. The weight is just over 5 pounds and the shipping weight would be around 6 pounds. Shipping charges could be lower than the quoted  $25 depending on proximity.
