The two had just completed the greatest match in the history of the game, Watson finishing 65-66 to win the '77 British Open by one over Nicklaus. On the 10th tee, with the famous lighthouse in the background, Nicklaus stood one ahead. But the lead was gone after a long Watson putt on 15. Nicklaus missed a four footer on 17 that gave Watson the lead. The Golden Bear heroically holed a 32 footer for birdie on 18 - but Watson was two feet from birdie, and he made it."
